Shahid,

I have read in various places that it depends on the equipment being used to film the event. Another example are DVDs. If you use an upscaling player you may notice some DVDs are better using 720p vs. 1080i and vice versa. 720 would be it for me.

Sorry, I probably should have posted this elsewher but I just finished listening to your MP3 on the subject... :D
