Hi

I am trying to advice a relative of mine on a good stb for him to get the freesat stuff and more.

He has sky at the moment, but don't want it anymore.

I have suggested to get a HD box, as he alreadsy has a HD TV.

For a budget of £100-£200, can you please make some suggestions so I can look into each one and then advice him.

Something with HD, possibly a PVR but not necessary, easy to use, he doesn't use CI cards like Dragon cam and ... ;)

He normally watches normal TV and the free film channels on SKy( fiml4, fiml24, TCM and ...).

Cheers in advance

The Hd receiver TM 6800 / 6900 seems to be a popular choice at the moment. It's slightly over budget but well worth paying the extra.

The TM6800/6900 will also read a Sky card for ch4 HD as well as other FTV channels. A USB HDD can be purchsed fairly cheaply ( I paid £40 I think) to make it a PVR (can't record and watch at same time though, even with DTT 2nd tuner model).

The HD Freesat PVRs are supposed to be being released at some point, not sure when though. Might be worth waiting for one of those.
