Also do you suspect any damp etc within the cover ?.Does one of the two cables have a thicker gauge as CJ suggested ?.My 36" Quarl readings taken directly onto the terminals of the motor & reed switch under the cover are:  13ohms motor -  0.3ohms across the reed switch</blockquote>
