Advice for a beginner

I am a novice and have just developed an interest in the field of Satellite TV.

I would like to know about Programmers, which one to buy how to set it up etc.
and how to obtain Channel Keys for Scrambled channels.

All types of information for a beginner will be gratefully recieved.
