Advice on replacement Receiver box for Dutch Canal Digitaal

Hi, I currently have a DSR 8121 HD receiver box which came with the package I bought through family in the Netherlands. The issue I have is that the receiver is awful and not user friendly. Also on some channels the box starts to play up, the picture flicks on and off and eventually either comes through ok or the box goes into standby and needs to be turned on again. I know the signals from satelites are good as I check this and other channels on same satelite work fine. I want to replace the receiver with something that with something better - needs to be HD and be able to record. I have seen some references to Topfield boxes which look like high end ones but, I would be grateful if someone can tell me what I need to check when buying a new receiver to ensure it will work the canal digitaal smart card. I have seen reference to CAM etc.. but, I don't know what that all means. Thanks
