Hi, I dont know too much about this sort of stuff, so any advice is appreciated.
Basically, I want to get a system where i can watch Premiership football that isnt shown on Sky. Im under the impression i need to get a dish put up and linked to a decoder, but from there im unsure how to go about recieving the channels. Some people have said that you need to buy a card for about £1000 to watch the games, which seems a bit expensive, some have said that you need to get some sort of code off the internet to put into the box and some have said that you can just watch the games as soon as its all set up?
If i need to suscribe to a service provider, what one would you reccomend for watching Premiership games?
Thanks in advance, Dan.

I suggest that you first concentrate on the dish.
Find out where you need to site a motorized dish, to get a good view of the satellite arc, if you take a Sky dish, as a reference point, this points at 28.2E, that's 28.2 degrees East of South, so if you face the dish, and turn 28.2 degrees to the left that gives you roughly South.
If you print a picture of a protractor off the internet, use google images, this will give you an idea of how far the dish will have to move to get a good view East and West of South, it sounds more complicated than it actually is.
You are allowed up to a 1 Metre dish without planning permission, in most circumstances.
Have a look through the pictures of other members set ups:

and a read through the guides:

Thanks for the reply. My mate does all that sort of stuff, so im sure he will be able to put the dish up and align it for me. Thing is, I dont want to get a dish put up and buy a box and then find out its £1000 a year to watch the football! I wondered what sort of money people who have these sorts of systems are paying (if at all) and what sort of sports coverage they get?

If you want the best set of Saturday 3pm games then you will be paying a thousand quid a year for Sky Italia or one of the Nordic services. (Or 1500 quid if you want HD :D )

This is assuming you have to use a uk based reseller - its far far cheaper to subscribe in the home country - but many folks dont have suitable contacts.

If you dont mind a restricted choice of games then a card costing a couple of hundred quid will give you a couple of games a week.

You dnt get free premiership these days - well there is one route used patched receivers but it will be going secure in the near future :-rofl2

If there was a cheap and easy way to get football every man and his dog would be doing it.

Somebody has mentioned Nova Sport to me, Which i believe is Greek? Does anybody have any experiences with this service? I found a card on the internet for this from a UK based seller which was over a thousand pound, but i do know somebody who lives in Greece, so, do i understand it correctly that they could register it to thier address and then pass the card on to me?

If you know someone in Greece then get them to organise the subscription for you & send the card / equipment to you when its authorised :)

I've been looking into different packages and Canal Plus seems to have a very good coverage of Premiership football. Seen cards on the net for around £800-£900 for a year. Do any of you have this package, and if so would you recommend it?

I have an Albanian Digitalb Supersport card originally puchased from ebay (£150-£190) which I have renewed a couple of times and have been very happy with the EPL and Championship (Toon fan) coverage. The annoying thing is a 12 month Supersport subscription is only £125 in Albania! So finding a 'local' who can purchase 'at source' is definately the way to go and not have to pay a 'middleman' silly money for a phone call renewal.

Rumours are that DigitAlb will lose the Premier League rights this year and Tring will take over so I'd wait a little before renewing your subscription or taking out a new one.
