On the night of July 17-18, 2021, the broadcasting standard of Algerian public television on the Eutelsat 7 West A (7 ° W) satellite will change. It will now broadcast in DVB-S2, instead of the current DVB-S standard. The picture in the TNT terrestrial network is also expected to improve, but this will not happen yet.
The picture and sound of EPTV satellite broadcasts should be significantly improved. The operator recommends that viewers replace the receiver with a newer one that supports the DVB-S2 specification. Owners of older DVB-S receivers will be without EPTV programs.
EPTV plans to launch two new public service channels by the end of summer 2021 - one parliamentary and the other dedicated to young people.
planned technical parameters - EPTV (from 18.7.2021):
• Eutelsat 7 West A (7 ° W), frequency 11.679 GHz, position H, SR 27500, FEC 2/3, DVB-S2 / 8PSK, MENA bundle
