Even more so in 1983 When Signal Radio came on air from Stoke using the same MW frequency.Ex ILR 1170 Swansea Sound has been shut down the last couple of days. Always a difficult catch for me down in Cannock when MW dxing in the 1980s.
Which station? Is good old 1548 going to continue? very nice to have it here when night comes!
Its certain to close in the near future - MW listening has fallen off a cliff in recent years & its not commercially viable to keep old transmitters going which cost a fortune to run in electricity when they are only being used by a few thousand listeners.I'm guessing Gold from Saffron Green north of London! I don't think there's any closure plans for that one yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it closes at some point
I believe Saffron is on it's last set of antenna filters after the complex was struck by lightning a couple of years ago.I'm guessing Gold from Saffron Green north of London! I don't think there's any closure plans for that one yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it closes at some point
capital gold from LondonWhich station?
