Now,how do I use this?.
Back in 2003, I used a hardware down-converter to a 12kHz IF which fed a sound card. I'm sure there must be add-ons for SDR software but this tells you how to use Dream with an SDR:

DW on 3995kHz from 2004

An RTL SDR USB Stick

Make sure it's a V3 or 4 if you don't want to bodge a connection to get HF coverage
HF direct sampling circuit, diplexed out from the SMA connector The idea behind direct sampling mode is that an antenna can be connected directly to the ADC pins of the RTL2832U, and this can enable HF reception. This is useful because the R820T/2 tuner can only tune down to about 24 MHz at the lowest. On typical R820T RTL-SDR dongles one can enable direct sampling mode by soldering a wire to the Q-branch pins of the RTL2832U. The RTL2832U samples at 28.8 MHz, so 0 – 14.4 MHz, and 14.4 MHz – 28.8 MHz can be listened to

Thank you very much! I wonder whether this system will eventually pick up?
Seems the only place liking it is India.

DRM is the defacto source for broadcasts in India, I think they are the only country to have adopted it beyond other mediums.

DRM+ is slated to be a game changer for the countries that rejected DAB/DAB+ since it is spectrally more efficient and robust on Band III.

There were tests done way back in the 2000s in this country though I don't have much detail here.

I doubt DRM will be used much past tests in the UK - far too much money has been invested in DAB / DAB+ here.

Plus quite a few of the MW transmitter antennas have already been demolished & the sites cleared for redevelopment.

the old LW (Droitwich )with Radio Four would be a nice choice...
As soon as the electricity boards stop paying the running costs of the Droitwich tx it will be turned off pronto. Its only been kept running so long to provide the signals for the hundreds of thousands of radio time switches that still need to be swapped out for smart meters.

Looking at drn.org, apart from India and a few non-broadcast uses, there isn't much more around than there was in the early 2000s.

BBCWS, from what is now Caroline's site, beamed towards the continent. 1296kHz. I think it's dated 2005.

One hopes Radio Caroline considers DRM+ for their output, just to keep the bills down before the valve room gives out

Caroline here..only in winter after due dark.
The Internet ,of course, provides. Notably Caroline with a choice of channels,a wonderful company!
The only gap is ,when you drive where local radio is...;not too good!
So,it s either Caroline,or drive!

Thats a fluid date which has been moved several times already so I wouldnt be in the slightest but surprised if its not extended again - there is NO WAY the electricity industry is going to get anywhere near the number of radio teleswitches changed by next June.

Well Scottish Power seems the be bombarding me at the moment to change to a smart meter, as we still have a Tele switch type, so can only assume that date will be final. We don't have storage heaters so it's of little consequence if we don't switch meters as our tariff is the same for day and night usage. First time they came to replace it they refused to do it owing to lack of space, or so they said.
