My Satellite Setup
i have next and next satellite receiver and it has recording ability by putting usb hard disk into it but my problem is that i have trekstor hard disk i formatted it and now it doesn't record anything

i didnt know where to post my problem in the exact forum but iam hopping that u can help me i have (next and next)satellite receiver that have usb that i can record stuff on it to the hard drive my problem is i have a trekstor external hard drive i used to record on it from the receiver but now when i connect it to the reveiver it can read the hard drive but i cannot record anything on it even the hard drive works properly when connected to computers so any one can help me please?!!!

I don't know your reliever, but you mention in your profile that you formated the disk. Maybe the reliever does not like whatever file system you used.

Try formatting again, but make sure you use the FAT32 file system. Most systems can read FAT, not many like the NTFS.

If the reciever is a linux box, try EXT2 or EXT3.

Can you format the drive from within the receiver menus? If you can that may be your best bet.
