Hi all,

sorry if this is the wrong section but since it is about installation I thought it might be the right place to ask for the following.

I want to calibrate my Sat Receivers using any test patterns for contrast/brightness and colour. Would anyone know if there is a channel particular for this broadcasting off hotbird at 13E?

Many thanks in advance,

kopa13

Doesn't the Dreambox provide you with a colour bar output for this purpose?
I ask because there is such a feature on the Triple Dragon Linux STB.

Hi Llew,

Thanks for replying...

Yes you are right, it does provide one colour test pattern but I am looking for black/white patterns too so I can calibrate my display acordingly for bright/contrast.

Furhtermore, tweaking OSD settings seems to adjust the brightness/contrast on the display(!). However, I need a reference channel broadcasting white/black bars/images to do the calibration right .

In DVD players calibration you have the DVE and AVIA discs that make these easy for you. I know there are channels picked up from US for that same purpose but was wondering if there are any either in Hotbird 13E or any of the Astras.

Try here for a selection of test patterns, you could put them on a disk for future use. Better than relying on off-air transmissions.

many thanks Llew...

I'll give them a try...

I've also noticed you have the Humax HDCI 2000 HD. I have one of these too. Perhaps this is not the right thread but can you use soft cams (perhaps installed over serial ? ) on that receiver?

Not that I'm aware of kopa13, it's friendly to some CAMs though (Dragon, Diablo, perhaps others).
