I was and still am a complete novice regarding this matter, but have done alot of research over the years to know that it is very hard but is not impossible to get the arabsat & Nilesat channels but impossible only with the 90cm rule we have in this country. I will be asking my question on another thread so it doesn't seem like I am trying to hijack this one.
Hello there, Iknow this is an old post and I do not see any reason why I cannot reply to it as I am searching for something similar. I was searching the internet trying to find out some information regarding the same subject but to improve the connection I already have so I thought I should register here as the question has already been asked and might aswell give my 2 cents. As I recall when I first wanted to install a satellite dish I realized I cannot install any bigger than a 90cm dish without an approval from the council and that approval might not be possible and will have to pay just to find out so I used 1 90cm dish and everything was fine at first but then all the channels started to disappear from arabsat and onto Nilesat and all the new arabic channels were opening only on nilesat but our 1 90cm would not pick up both along with hotbird so we decided to get another 90cm just for the Nilesat and use the first for hotbird and any other sat if needed. Now when I read some of the replies saying you cannot get a signal for nilesat with a dish smaller than 1 meter I thought I really should post my excperience. I live in Watford - England and I use a 90cm dish for Nilesat and anther 90cm dish for the rest, which are hotbird and Arabsat aka badr. I have 3 LNB's installed and although I use 2 dishes so that I can allign 1 only for nilesat to achieve better signal strengh I still have failed to get a lot of the channels my family have requested.
