ART cards on Ebay

I am looking at buying a new ART sports card and browsing ebay I see a number of sellers with the 12 months card for around £120. My only fear is that a couple of them state that they "Do not sell fake cards that are going around ebay". This has me worried and I am wondering whether there are many fakes going around or whether this is scare mongering by the sellers trying to get you to buy their card.

Is there a problem with fake cards and is there anything to look out for?

Also, this guy 12-Month-Art-Sports-Cards-full-bouquet-5-6-Al-Jaz_ is advertising the whole package for the same price as others. Anyone know anything about this seller? He has made his feedback private which always concerns me.

Finally, and apologies for all these noob questions, When I buy an Art card and a Dragon CAM, can I simply use the CAM out of the box or do I have to program it with Predator first?

Why not have a look at some of our advertisers in the top of the forum banner, refreshing the page will bring up a different one. We know they are reliable and they can't hide their feedback, as it would come out in the forum.

Yet they have a category for them - !

Safest bet is, as rolfw says, use the supplier on here...

there'll be more art viewers now digitalb has moved the sports to the supersport channels that you have to pay extra for

Thanks for the replys guys. I checked out the advertisers but as wod suggests above only Mantesat seem to sell them and they come in at £15 dearer when you add on postage. - EDIT - OK scrap that, just seen the free postage option on the advert and found it in the drop down list, will definately buy from Mantesat now.

I was really juts wondering if Fake cards were indeed rife as the sellers make out.

Could someone help me with my other question regarding using the card in a Trex cam. Need to know whether I need to buy a programmer at the same time or whether an ART card will just work. Also (this should probably be in the CAM section) is it worth getting the new T-Rex 4.5 or saving a bit and getting the older 4.1?

Hi mate when buying ART card from ebay. expect to pay the max of £150 for a 12 month pre paid card. make sure it is the ful art sports on it inc al jazeera 1,2. as with ebay chack feed backs of other buyers. the card will only work pproperly in the official viacesd red cam or viacess slot if u have it. with other cams it WILL cause freezing problems.

A new Trex cam from a reputable dealer will not work with any card. You will need to get a loader card and a programmer to load predator.

You might find some people willing to sell you a pre-loaded cam , or you could buy a used cam. Any predator version should work.

A new viaccess embedded receiver would be cheaper than the cam + loader card + programmer.

Bought a card for £123 on ebay inc postage, from marcellom or somthing. It works fine, and i checked the expirary date thing on the main menu and it is indeed a full years card.

Thought you were an Alsat member wod, if you were then you should have seen there "Crazy Offers Sale" last weekend.
12 month's Art Sports Card 1-4 which also opens 5 & 6 on sale for £79.

They will probably have other sales as they sell other things as well, for example got a friend of mine a Technomate 1500 Super plus 12 month Art Sports Card for £166.

It does seem, Art full + Al Jeezera 1+2 sports card works very well on VA embedded receivers.
So as previously posted, i checked out (as per Rolf W. instructions to advertisers at top of page)
& purchased a full Arts sport + Al Jeezera sport 1& 2 from Mantesat for £125 free delivery.
Mine will expire Aug 2007.

I also purchased Technomate 7755 2va 2ci from the same company £128 delivered.
Art Sports work perfect (apart from audio noise on Sport 2)

PS> this same card did freeze on Dragon cam, no problems on 7755.
