Astra 1N at 19.2E

I would like you to add this to your statement:

HEVC is always in progressive format

(HEVC does not support interlaced format)

In theory, but the Czech/Slovak HEVC services on 16°E seem to use an interlaced format - you can see this on CT24.

As for the services on 19.2°E, I'll be curious to see what the arrangements for this new Spanish "HD+" service are, in terms of availability and cost of cards etc.

I've seen 1080x1920 interlaced in a adapted progressive format (540x1920 50 Hz) but only on feeds, not for DTH.
Your receiver can decode it but your picture will be half the vertical size. The even/oneven fields are combined in one picture.
The problem is to know the order of the fields, in the new HEVC standards this is solved but for DTH not yet allowed.

About the OT MAIN feed,
It's not active before 6:00 PM (GMT+1), but it is active now at 6:11 PM (GMT+1).
At first, they left the QR code fixed, but the QR code on the screen keeps changing. They generally start the broadcast at 8:00 PM.
They're broadcasts for Amazon from the OT Academy. I'm not in control of this world.:-rofl2

P.S. For my part, I'm done. I'm off to do other things.:-lol
-----------
PD: Por mi parte fin, voy a pescar otras cosas.:-lol

No channel changes, just two feeds: the usual one these days (OT MAIN) and a new one. I don't know if I'm late or early to stop the second one. I arrived early. It's for WDR at a flea market. I'm asking the audience, and then it might be a guitar concert. We'll see. They're editing the footage they have.
The Operación Triunfo link doesn't start until 8:00 PM, then it takes an hour and they shut down. I think you can also watch it on Amazon, but I have no idea. Since the decoder is in 4:2:2, our receivers/decoders don't support it, but with Videolang you can watch the recording or stream it to your PC:

Both in 4:2:2
---------------------

how are they obsolete if they can receive this message, and therefore DVB-S2?

This is what is written in the French trade press.

translation :

Canal+ has announced that it will no longer support its Samsung +Le Cube Satellite decoders, which have become obsolete in the face of new technological developments. The move aims to ensure a better user experience and full access to the services included in the subscription. The decoders in question will soon no longer be compatible with future technical updates to the platform. Canal+ explains that these devices ‘will no longer be able to support future technological developments’, making their replacement inevitable.

Automatic replacement at no cost

Affected subscribers — only those with a Samsung model — will receive a new decoder free of charge, with no re-commitment required. The CANAL+ decoder will be shipped within 2 to 4 weeks after receipt of a notification email. This latest-generation model, a hybrid satellite and internet device, offers 4K quality, ultra-fast navigation thanks to its 8 tuners, and smoother access to content.

The new decoder will be delivered to a collection point, with a text message or email from Chronopost as soon as it is available. The collection address will be specified. The deposit for the old equipment will be automatically transferred to the new one.

This replacement will result in the loss of all recordings stored on the old decoder. Canal+ therefore recommends that subscribers view their content before the change. In addition, the new decoder requires an HDMI connection. For older televisions (SCART only), subscribers can contact an advisor to obtain a suitable version, the Satellite Cube equipped with the New Experience.

thanks. still doesn't explain what is obsolete about it. Maybe a conditional access issue?

Looking from a distance (Spain) and not knowing what they have now.
It's clear that the new 4K receiver with 8 tuners, most likely FBC, will offer a lot of flexibility up to DVB-S2X (I hope, since we also have the first versions of DVB-S2 with 8 tuners), and being 4K, it supports HEVC and then HD in H265.
In addition to having an IPTV connection for more options.
The FBC tuners represent an increase of €80; I don't know the actual factory price, but it's the cheapest solution for having 8 tuners.
Offering a lot of flexibility in community installations (upgraded to unicable), as well as in individual installations, with a single cable, you can tune 8 channels/frequencies of any band and polarity.

The old receivers are DVB-S2 and H264; by changing the receiver, the advantages and savings on the satellite are very significant.
They can achieve a 51% transmission savings for similar apparent quality.
If it supports PCMCIA and also has standard readers, they already have a great future ahead.
Time will tell.
------------------------

New bunch of (FTA???) channels in Spain? Over astra 19E
I just read this very cryptic article about a new bouquet for Spain
but the technical double-dutch phrasing is too difficult for me.
1)is it another encoding encryption system?
2) another norm, like HEVC or multistreams or 4k?
3)or is it FTA ,so receivable where I live (100kms from Spain as the crow flies)
4)or,else,will there be an FTA test period, then encryption?

Essentially, this involves inserting or receiving IP via DVB.

Thank you very much,so....
how does the average user with a smart tv and a dish achieve that?
DVB is the usual digital picture system.(DVB-S/DVBs2 /etc??)
IP ,internet protocol... so what is it?
the internet tv we have already here with "boxes" connected to modems? or something else?
