Bagged a transponder on 38.0°E Paksat 1R ...amazed myself...

Hi friends ..
Such a perfect DX Weekend ...
been tweaking the VScaler plate ...
..and finally ...after much searching ...
RESULT !!
_never_ had a squeak from 38.0°E Paksat 1R before ..
Combination of clear skies ..and the feed ?

4042 V

Oxygene DVB-S 2850-3/4
locked almost solid ..
Very occasional dropout ...and using the F15 of course..
This receiver continues to blow other boxes out of the water..

..I suspect thats my lot ..
There are 3 other channels showing less than 1db intermittently ...in other words ...signs of life ...but these are beyond my reach.
I can only conclude there is a deviance or peak with certain transponders ...or ...the scalar feed is actually 'tuning' a specific range or ranges ...
Certainly these channels were _never_ possible without it.
...and am loathe to tweak any more until I have some marks and photos taken of the current assembly ..in order that I might be able to navigate back there at a later date ..

this nice clear weather is very welcome perfect for satellite searching ---

also good for hill/mountain walking - so it has kept me away from my satellite toys recently -- but trying to find some time later tonight to have a look at some sats

you have lots of variation of adjustment with that new feed - it will take some time to learn all its effects -- and as - has been discovered - C band can be quite subtle and quirky ------

i,v not looked at paksat for weeks -- only one t.p. ( borderline lock last time i was there )

Perhaps worth another visit to Paksat tonight Nelson ..
It could just be freak conditions ...giving me access to 2 almost solid locked transponders ..

a qiuck blind scan with the vantage revealed --

4042 V Oxygene

4039 V Sohni Dharti TV

both these are holding a good steady lock


also slipping in and out of lock but with no visible picture is -- 4033 V DVB-S 4340-3/4 --- i.d. on my receiver is DVB -server


i will try manually, some more t.p,s later -- when i have more time

So Looks like conditions are indeed right tonight
4033 ..is giving me about 1.5 db variable ...
Insufficient for a lock ...even briefly..
..but then ..its awful close to by 'tree' brockage ...and possibly clipping the semis opposite ..
Can't complain tho' ..
A good day ..and another sat in the bag ..

It`s a +1 button to recomend the page on Google+, their attempt at a facebook type social network

I added those +1 buttons to my forum but have them on top of the first post instead of the header

hi VS well done it seems the feed is working well.have not tried c-band yet had ku band on dish over xmas i swap later this evening to see if i can get those two transponders,cheers

had another go at this sat last night but the signal weakened late evening ---
it is stronger here for me this evening since around 5 .00 p.m.

and got a couple of pictures from the t.p. - 4033 V DVB-S 4340-3/4 that was just under proper lock for me last night --
its still pixelating badly but clears for short spells --

Guys sorry to hijack the thread but your knowledge is unquestionable on this subject are you able to pick jsc fta on 3 east? Or what dish size is needed for this. This is just for curiosity

a blind scan has revealed two more for me --
mehran t.v. 4180 V which is a solid lock
and health t.v.4177 V which is just under and will not quite build a picture
