Hi nelson, yes I had a quick look last night, another appealing thing about them is there size once taken apart, I have some very high ground on some land I detect I would love to go out on mobile DX, something like that would be ideal :), maybe one day once I get everything sorted out at home :).
 
If price does not go up and item is located in the neighborhood that it is kind of deal (just because of the LNB :-rofl2 Dish looks ugly.

But plenty of life left in it i bet ...
its identical to the very first dish i owned :) ... a shallow dish with a long feedarm .. a good perfomer better than most 60 c.m. dishes ... and made of much thicker metal than present day ones ;) a bit of rust killer and some Hammerite and it would be fine .....
still got mine .. as it was my first dish i cant bring myself to part with it :):)
 
I'm still using one of the solid versions of those (with 6 degree offset), the white surface has seen better days though. Must be 20 years old.

Can't fault it, but then I can't disassemble it either as there are no threads left anywhere to speak of.

Not without going on the roof. But it is definitely an 80cm dish and the offset is metal and allows 19E and 13 E without modification.

1.2m channel master with Jaeger H to H motor

Anyone know what model the motor is, it looks to be a more heavy dute version than the 1224?
I think there have been previous forum posts on this model of Jaeger motor, possibly a renovation project?

This is about 65 miles away for me. Pity it isn't Stratford (where they used to make them? Or so I hear) that's half the distance. :cool:
 
That's a Jaegar 128 or something like Silent Gold 36v motor. They have been used in a few setups - I have one with a bracket to fit a Fibo 90 dish. Looks strong enough to drive a 1.2m CM but nothing bigger. 1224 is still the motor if choice for me (especially the Jumbo/reinforced version).

Yes, you are correct, its the lower rated version, I was thinking of the model with the large circular plate with holes in it that the dish attaches to. That was the more heavy duty off the shelf model made by Jaeger, it was the KHM 36RL model, real heavy duty.

The best example of a beefed up version of a 1224 I know about was the one modded up by "martin-f". He stripped it down and rebuilt it with some very strong reinforcements, it moved a Channel Master 1.8m dish with ease on a massively wide arc. It was an outstanding example of how to beef up a 1224.
 
I am now the proud owner of that Dish and equipment.

Looks like I'm getting back into the hobby once again......
