Hi guys, I'm new around here, and wondered if you could answer some questions for me?

I really want to watch Bayer Leverkusen Vs Spurs on thursday night, and wondered if its possible with a standard sky set up?
I read somewhere its on ZDF in germany, is it possible to recieve this channel, and also on Setanta Ireland on channel 434, but when I tuned into a uefa program earlier, it said unavailable.

Any help will be grateful

Cheers Dave

Can't see that listed anywhere, but:

You should be able to watch ZDF using your digibox, it would require moving your dish to Astra 19.2, easy if you know how, but could be problematic and produce potential family friction. ;)

Sky+ Pace v3, and before that analouge 80cm dish with Prima by Pace box pointed at 19.2e (not very imaginative then!)

DO NOT MOVE YOUR DISH, your digibox probably wont scan it if you move it anyway.

The only thing I could suggest is watching it online. I have no idea why noone has the rights to this, crazy but I think the Germans wanted too much money.

ok (I've learnt someting today!). still, i wouldn't advice he goes swinging his dish about for the sake of one game - 0-0, I reckon.

I agree, very difficult to explain to the significant other and offspring, why they can't watch Eastenders, but will be able to watch Baywatch in German. :-lmao

Thanks for the reply guys,
I don't feel confident enough just yet to move the dish to a new position. ( or brave enough, like you said yourself Eastenders!!! add to that Emmerdale, and it could spark off wwIII)(dont know why its blanking that off, I know its a crap program but thats a bit harsh))

Whats the story with Setanta Ireland on channel 434. I noticed that the game is listed in the epg on thursday. But I can only presume that i will get the same message "channel unavailable". Incidently when i looked at the channel a bit later, It was showing me a program on Irish jockeys, So am I right in thinking that for most of the channels content it is not encrypted and viewable to everyone no matter where you are, but as soon as they show a program that they have paid a lot for the rights of (i.e the uefa cup) they will encrypt the channel to non subscribers :-cry1

Yeah, Setanta are subscription, so I guess you'll be visiting a sports bar Thursday night, because no pubs will have it unfortunately (well, you'll be lucky to find one). I'd ring around if I were you.
