If you watch the repeats of the early series of 'new' Top Gear (circa 2003) currently being shown on Dave in the afternoon it suffers from the same blurry video quality. It looks like 576 50i has been butchered into 25p by line doubling each field and then blending odd and even fields into one frame. It's certainly not how they were originally broadcast and I presume a product of someone at the BBC who didn't know, or care about, what they were doing when converting old tapes or DVDs into 'digital' format for long term storage or use by streaming services.</blockquote>
