Dennis Bergkamp has his testemonial match at the new Emerates stadium today and it's on Channel 5 (5.00 pm kickoff). Chance to see the last of a real talent and to take a look at a new stadium which HAS been completed on time in North London.

i watched the game, the stadium looks great.... and good luck to Dennis Berkamp, hes been a model pro and a great servant to the club.

not many foreign players stay with a English club for 11 years.

Wasn't about money. It was a chance for all the loyal fans to say thank you and if they were worried about his money they wouldn't have turned up. :rolleyes:

He's proved to be a role model for kids and I don't think you can put a price on that.

I have to agree that testemonials for long serving Premiership players are a bit outmoded, as the majority of them are already set for life, it is a throwback from a different era, when retiring players needed the pension. Many of them do however donate a huge amount of the purse to their pet charity now.

As Jimbo says, the fans love the games, they are a chance to see the legends in a fun atmosphere.
