All,

I have put together a HTPC and I am looking for a PC DVB HD card.

I want to use it to receive
- Freesat
- Tring TV (16E)
- Al Jazeera Sports (13E)

So it will need a CI slot (i appreciate i'll probably need to switch cards for this). Ideally i'd like to record TV also.

Can anyone suggets the best PC card for the job ?

Possibly a Skystar HD2 and the associated Skystar CI module. And a viewing application such as DVBViewer for recording.

HI

I have been using the Skystar2 HD and Ci slot for a couple of years. Am pretty happy DVBviewer is the most stable software IMO for that set up. Word of warning on the CAM with higher bitrate on some HD channels the CAM is very important. The Technisat CAM I use for some of the broadcasts on 1 w (15 mbs +)works well where as some others cant keep up and the picture breaks up.

DVBviewer also has server and client software which lets me watch on PC or laptop when the wife steals the TV. Its easy to set up and works well over wifi.
