BIG SAT Receiver

sorry if this isnt quite in the appropriate forum.

My dad has just been sold a STB called a Big Sat, which has not CI slots or CAMS, it allows keys to be entered directly through one of the menus.

I suppose there is some sort of softcam built in, but i aint sure what this is (s2emu, yankse, ect) or how this would be updated.

The box cost £75 and apparenlty are in high demand and short supply.

Does anybody have one or have experience?

If keys can be entered in that easy why dont you enter the keys and try it out? if it works that easy I want one too!

never did heared of none BigSat rigs any more info on it? back side ,bottom? pull cover and see if info inside too. ect ect

from waht i can work out its a DSR 8000, i think...

There is way more Brand names than there is manufacurers ! so its probably got another name somewhere...................

yeahh - it got - but bad software - dont load if u dont have patched one

ive ordered on, when it arrives i'll have a play obviously. dunno if its patched though??

Thanx mate. Thats interesting ( where did u order ) . Fresh FTA -always on official site. I heard there is a new soft with skyitaly ,Au on Cifra+ and Takilla - so hope 2 see it soon on publik uploads

right just attached null modem cable, downloaded all the software i could find.

been able to upload keys, but not sure about any kind of cam software???

if i had any idea what i was doing i would be dangerous!

anyone know what the latest software is?

also, when i upgrade the software, it complete and displays good on the stb, what do i do next, coz i reboot it, it wont come back on???

did u use " Upgreat32 " ? or earlier version ? ( null-modem cable doesnt work with bigsat - it should be strait rs232 ) after upgreating did u nanage to switch emulator - if yes - by what number -7799 or what (8800) ?

dint know there was difference between rs232 and null modem?

i never managed to boot after patch to switch emu.

Upgreat32? never heard of that,

i can upload .bins using uptoolb34-38-39.exe

using anything else (ie upgrade31.exe, upgrade32.exe) results in err.3 or err.5 on the reciever.

when red light error occurs and box will not boot, use upgrade32 from official site and Earth_FTA&ampB&G.bin.bin (which storozh kindly provided)

i now have a FTA channels (obviously) and some encyrpted...
