Hiya All!!!

I wonder if you guys and girls could help me out a little please?

I live in Turkey at the moment, which sucks....and was wondering if there is anything that I can watch from all the way over here.

I had some guy install a system for me yesterday, and when I asked him what I could watch, he said CNN and YES. Which was real nice....did I mention that I don't like living in the middle east?!

Anyway, I have a Goldmaster SAT-57000S FTA Receiver, a 100cm dish, Don't know what the LNB is....and it is all pointing at Hotbird.

I can see listed a bunch of channels, although can only watch a handfull.

There is a RS232 port on the back of the receiver, and I guess I can hack it from there......does anyone know of a location where I might download software to do this?

Any other advice would be more than welcome. If I have to upgrade after 24 hours, that is ok too! lol

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Take Care

Kara

Welcome to the forum Kara

Your stb is a common one for your location and there are lots of Turkish forums where all the possibilities are probably discussed but I do not understand Turkish so I am unable to help you. If you do a google search for your stb you will find many references too it and may be able to find software for it there. Please be warned though that if you reflash your receiver with unauthorised software and then it fails you may end up out of pocket it you are unable to find someone to help you fix it.

Hello Kara,
I am in the same situation here in Turkey.
Be careful with the software you or any of the so called experts try to install.
I have a Humax box now that may never work again after the shop tried to update it for me.
Another option for you may be Digiturk if you dont mind spending around 30. TL a month.
Installation is free and no update hassle, not as much fun though.
They have CNN and I think BBC, also a few English movie channels.
Hopes this helps.
