PS. I don't think that they actually want to win the cup at the moment, (although I'm sure they'll take it), as automatic promotion is the important aim. I would guess that Birmingham may have other things on their mind as well.

Can you imagine the match load next season with two European competitions and the first year struggle in the Premiership, don't think that the squad could handle it.

Reading will play what is effectively their reserve team as they did last time, so I don't think that it is clear cut.

I support Shrewsbury, and Everton when I can afford it. It is very tempting to stay at home and watch **S but..nothing is as good as a real live game with yorki bars and tea. Still fancy Reading.

I would guess that both Birmingham and Reading would probably rather concentrate on their league performance.

I do like O'l Steve but he has a few problems and some tough games ahead and as you said he needs to sort out their position. Bronking, I'll tune in later. May have to be a pub job though.

Didn't watch the game, but looked like a good one, Reading did field a reserve side, but there are some good players in there.

I was at the game - attendance was poor - only around 16000 so stadium was half full, but interestingly they filled up the stand opposite the tv cameras so on the telly it probably looked quite full.

Game was pretty slow to start, with little atmosphere until Reading scored at the beginning of the second half. This woke the Birmingham players up a bit and the game got quite exciting.

Some fans got arrested ejected too (dunno what they were doing tho) ;)

Blues fielded a reserve side too - 6 of the starting 11 were not part of the regular 1st team, and many were 19 and 20 year old reserve players!!

Yes, as I said earlier, don't think either side had the appetite for a cup run, too many other important games to gain results from.

The cup always amazes me if a team are doing crap in the league the FA cup will do = good side out, used to be premiership teams fielded mostly reserves. Sometimes any silverware is better than nothing. It was a good game like last nights Reading won.
