hi - folks
as in the thread title i,m getting a signal on - 4187 L or possibly H --sr 4060 (see picture)
i cant download a channel from it so maybe its data --
the puzzle is that its being received from 28 east give or take half a degree -
there,s not supposed to be any C band around there - 30 .5 is the nearest - and i,m certainly not that far east - i noticed it a couple of nights ago -- and i ,v been double checking the position again tonight before posting - can anyone else see this T.P. frequency and/or give an expanation ?

cheers nelson.b.

That TP is from Badr 6. It's a data transponder so there are no channels to scan. Check flysat for more info.

According to this site there's a constant carrier in 26e.

I can't get anything to lock in this part of the sky but I'm very close to the tree so probably losing signal. Maybe someone can compare this trace and tell me if I'm on 26E or 30E?

hi
thanks for the reply,s - and the info re - badr 6
i looked on flysat at the badr sats but must have missed the data channels at the top of the list ----
i,v been re-setting all my sat positions recently after moving the actuator to the other side of my dish -- and thought i was nearer to 28 than 26 --

regards nelson.b.

Why did you change? Which side is it on now?

hi - Huevos

its on the left/(east)side - now
the reason - stability mainly -- my dish spends more time on the east sats these days -

as it was before with the jack a long way out at 49 e -- 42 e -- 38 e it was harder to fine tune --
much less counts per degree - and it used to wobble a bit in the strong winds i get here sometimes --

my view is a bit restricted at the far west - and i was not as interested in the channels i got
from there -- so stability at that side - was somewhat wasted .

also fitted a new bearing in the jack while it was off - just to keep on top of things . :)

cheers ---
