Card to open Italian channels on Openbox V8S?

Hi all,

I have an Openbox V8S and would like to watch some of the italian channels on Hotbird that are encrypted - including the HD versions of the Rai channels.

Is there a card I can buy/subscribe to that will work with the above box?

The stock card for your purpose would be the Tivusat card.

However, nobody has managed to get recent Openbox variants to work with one.

I believe that there are a few receivers (Other than branded Tivusat receivers themselves) that will quite happily make use of the Tivusat Card and Cam, though.

IIRC, @Analoguesat has such a beast.

You can buy a Sky Italia card from TV Corner that works with a Sky HD original receiver.

Yup - been working for several years in a couple of receivers. They started off in the Vu+ Duo, and moved over to the TM when the Duo died with a motherboard failure.

You are looking at somewhere around £150 for a pre authorised card & cam from a retailer, less if you have contacts in Italy. Its a standard cam so should work in most receivers with CI slots.

(BTW Lazarus - the summoning spell doesnt work on me! )

For that price, you can get a pukka Tivusat HD box with pre-activated Card nowadays.

Clarke tech 3100 HD, 4100 HD, openbox sx4, and enigma 2 (oscam but I am not enough good at it) can handle an original tvsat card
