Hi Guys..

I am new to the forum and didnt mess with satellite gear since 1999 when i was well into analogue satellite, D2Mac, pic cards programming, & etc. A house moce disrupted all that!
Having just moved to a location where i can now set up my sat gear again i have just purchased a Clarke-Tech 2100+, set up a small dish for now and can already get several sats from 13*E to 1*W.
My receiver is only months old but 2nd user. It came with a cd but not the patching guide cd.The manual has hand-written notes like 8282 Key Editor, 8280 Biss Editor, 2004 to turn patch ON/OFF & Mute+Edit,6969(twice) but it doesnt say what the last 2 are for.
I can only hazard a guess at what patching is but i have no idea how to do it, when to do it and where to get the data to do it with! Please can someone bring me up to date on all this stuff?
I have rooted for websites and read some of the listing but most sites seem to asume the reader already has the knowledge and just lists little software tools like STB tool (what is it? lol). I need some basic lessons please....
..and being new to forums i am not sure how they work yet so please excuse me if i do something wrong :confused

Welcome to the forum parad0x_i

Well you are asking a lot of questions there about a receiver I have never heard of but it is listed here

Well this is actually a self help forum so feel free to use the search routine to find out information. Each individual Set Top Box varies as to the actual procedure so it is difficult to give you an accurate description.
Generally a patch is a combination of emulator and stb operating system and sometimes keys. The patch is usually applied using some stb software which again is usually stb specific. It is normally acheived using either a null modem cable or a standard rs232 cable again that is receiver dependent.

I must stress that whilst people will help you when in trouble nobody has the time to hold your hand and give you lessons why should we are you going to be paying us?;)
Enjoy your stay on the forum
I hope someone else has your stb and is able to give you more precise information

I think ctech is up to v141 firmware.
I don't own one, but they use .stb files for updates.
6969 is to turn the desrambling function on.
