Hello, I have no idea from square-one about hooking up dishes. This appears to be the most active forum on the subject so I'm trolling for some technical help, maybe links.

My friend, here in the states, recently acquired a Pacific Digital Media 933s unit and already had a small off-axis dish. He's wondering how much better he can increase his reception by hooking these things up, however, I have no idea what the 9-pin connector, modem jack, or LNB i/o coax are for on the back of the 933 unit. Where to start? All I can find about Pacific Digital Media are pages of corporate earnings, mergers, etc. (no corporate site for help or technical manuals).

Welcome to the forum eyenot

So far you have only broken one rule. I suggest you go read them again before falling foul of the forum :-rules again. Can I advise you that you have joined a predominantly European forum, it is unlikely anyone here will have sufficient knowledge of your stb if any also if there is no information stateside then you may be out of luck. Surely your friend did not buy the stb without an instruction manual?

If he did get the manual then may I suggest RTFM

edit I have moved your post to a more appropriate section of the forum
