couldnt mount HDD (selevision)

hello,
my brother consider him self computer geek but now i doubt his skills
well i got selevision which is the beast nd it has 80gb harddisk.my bother recorded some of his favorite shows and wanted those in his computer so he took off the harddisk nd run it in Xp which didnt work (of course as EXT3 doesn't work in windows).stupidly he formatted the HDD in EXT3 file sys through gparted but now when i connect my HDD,my set-top box isnt detecting my hardisk
it gives this kinda msg "(error hda);HDD is not mount"

pls help me guys

Check your instruction manual as it probably needs formatting correctly, check if you can do this with your receiver or if you have to do it in the computer.
From reading most hard drives require fat 32 instead of NTFS, which is probably what he used to format it the first time.

Have you checked the manufacturers website for information? Usually it's in the FAQ's section.

selevision is some how like dreambox,does any one know what peeps do in those kinda sys to mount a harddisk???

Do a google search for (telnet mounting and formatting hard disk).
