Cross Cable VS Straight Cable

Please advice which cable of these cables (Cross Cable & Straight Cable)

1- For connecting computer to computer , Monitor to Monitor and Printer to Printer .

2 - For connecting computer to DSL Modem ( Internet ) , satellite receiver to DSL Modem .

Moteck SG2100, Fracarro Penta 85 dish, LG LH3000 42" TV + some computers

I assume you mean CAT5 Ethernet cable?

2- connecting my satellite receiver to Internet DSL Modem

3- connecting my laptop to my satellite receiver

Direct connection between laptop and receiver (no modem/router/switch/hub between the two)
Crossover cable.

connect receiver to laptop via modem/router/switch/hub (the sensible option),
Patch Cable.

You can do it all with patch cables (Straight) Just connect everything directly to the DSL modem with patch cables if you have enough ports,

In this country, the cables are often colour coded, pink, or yellow, to determine which cable is which.
