I've been reading the detail on the process following the article,

Terminally ill teen won historic ruling to preserve body - BBC News

And recall sci-fi stories which often do not bode well for the patient, usually whilst in stasis or more commonly just after thawing out.

Is there any factual detail (not Han Solo) confirming the reversal process at the end has been proven and is reliable ?

All that I've ever read say that it's speculative at the very best.

As we don't know where the consciousness that makes each and every one of us unique and functioning we cannot be sure that it will survive the freezing process let alone any reanimation at some point in future.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

So far there's been a lot of freezing of people's bodies (or heads, cos apparently in the future cloning and head transplants will be an everyday thing), but, none have been defrosted and brought back to life, just defrosted and plopped in a hole in the ground 'cos the money to keep them frozen ran out... :-doh

Who knows what'll be possible in the future, but, right now, it's just science fiction...:-rofl2

That reminds me, need to take the pork shoulder out of the freezer.................

It could never happen, pure science fiction man essentially resurrecting a human back to life, only God could do this obviously, this is fact

I agree it would not be possible since the human body is made of mostly water, Each cell membrane would explode when frozen because of the water content expanding, it is desperation on the the part of the mugs willing to shell out on this fiasco

The preferred method is to replace the blood with another fluid with antfreeze like properties before the major cooling . I have the process on the other PC

A flow chart proves nothing, what is the method of removing the water from each individual cell in the body?, how is each individual cell accessed to replace the water with human anti-freeze and lastly let's see it work just once! then I will believe it, but would personally still never consider it

According to some sites, dogs and some smaller animals have been revived after stasis.

Interesting but this second liquid state is at 40-60°C, i.e. above freezing point. That's not to say that there aren't undiscovered solid states of course.
