Hi mick2me,
Don't worry updating the Diablo Cam in a Cas 3 + is very easy, and you have a good programmer for future requirements.
First you need to ensure you have the latest firmware for your Diablo Cam, the firmware is known as Stealth files, the latest being stealth241.dup.
Usually these files are compressed using winzip or winrar so require uncompressing before use.
Once you have this I have found it easiest to copy and paste the file on the computer desktop, makes it easier to find.
If you haven't already you will also need to install the latest software for your Cas 3, currently CIS 8.3a, available from duolabs.com, go to their home page, click on the downloads link and Cas Interface 3.
I'll now attempt to do a few guides on how to use your Cas 3 and Diablo Cam.
1 Getting Started.
Gently insert your Diablo Cam into your Cas 3, with the label pointing upwards.
Start up your Cas 3 software, click on the link on your desktop.
You should now have the Cas Studio software running.
At the top click on the Cam Module tab.
Click on the Diabo Cam icon, and then on the second Diablo Cam icon.
You will now see the Diablo Cam software.
2 Formatting your Cam
It is always wise to format your Cam before loading a new Stealth file, but only for loading a new Stealth file, if your Cam already has the latest Stealth loaded ignore this step, and the next step.
Click on the Cam Disk Functions tab.
Now click on Format, yes, and wait for the Cam to be formatted.
3 Loading a new Stealth file.
Click on the Upgrade Cam tab.
At the end of the blank address bar click on the square icon with 3 dots, navigate to your desktop and click on stealth241.dup, and open.
The traffic light, start update, icon should now have a green light, click on this icon.
Wait for stealth 241 to load.
4 Updating keys.bin files
Once completed you can now update the latest Diablo KEYS.bin file.
First download the latest Diablo keys.bin file, you can find this at alsat.
Now click on the Cam File System tab, and click on the connect option.
In the right hand pane you will see all the files currently loaded on your cam, in the left hand side you will see all the files on your computer.
If you have placed the new KEYS.bin file on your desktop you will now see it in the bottom left hand pane, highlight this and click the green arrow pointing to the right, you wil now be given the option to overwrite the old file, click yes.
This should be done in seconds and you can now disconnect and Exit.
5 Setting the Configuration options.
To get your newly loaded Cam to work you need to set the configuration options, which can be done using your Cas 3 or your receiver and remote.
Using your Cas 3
Click on the utilities tab and OK.
Click on the Common Interface Host icon.
You should now see Stealth 241
Click Enter Selected, highlight Configuration and enter, or use the double mouse click option.
You will now see a list of settings.
Ensure you have the following options:
Auto PMT ON, this is usually set to on.
Emulators ON, just double click on it to change the settings.
N2 AU ON
Emulators Priority 1 Emu 2 Cards, unless you are using a subscription card.
Fixed CW can be turned ON if any biss encrypted channels are available in the Keys.bin file.
Once set your new cam is ready to use.
Exit the software and place your Cam in your receiver.
Premiere, 19.2E, Polsat 13E, and Digi TV 1W, are al currently AU (Auto Updating) so if you leave your receiver on one of the channels for a few minutes the keys wil automatically update and you can view the package.
For TPS 13E, you need to leave your receiver tuned to Sci Fi, France 5 or other channel on 10873 V 27500 for a few minutes, once opened you can view the rest of the package.
If you have any problems, or other questions, please post back.
