hi i was reading through das tv web site and they claim they can upgrade. lets say a hotels exsisting tv distibution system by fitting a digital signal processor in the loft and using the exsisting cable network to distribute digital tv to all rooms.if any one know were they are selling these i would be most gratefull.thanks in advance

There is a six channel unit available, it sends 6 modulated digital channels around a standard coax system, I guess that you could double up for 12 channels. My local wholesaler sells them, but I haven't really seen much use for them so far, as most new systems use integrated TVs.

You can use the headend products from IKUSI.
These two can receive digital satellite signal. The output is analog video with stereo audio.

The first one can get a CAM in order to descramble an encrypted service. The second one works only with FTA services.

in case of digital Terrestrial service you can use the following.

The whole work is as follows.
You feed the equipment with RF signal (QPSK from satellite of COFDM from VHF/UHF). You program the units in order to tune to the desired stream. The outputs are analog.
The outputs feed VHF/UHF (or even S-band) modulators. Then you combine all of them in one RF cable.

If you want to search the market you can google the term "QPSK to PAL". IKUSI is not the only one with these products. You can search spaun, wisi, hirschmann.
