Not really on holiday, but spotted this in South Shields whilst driving past.

Anybody want to hazard a guess on the dish size and what sat it is focused on.

Trying to account for the perspective, and comparing AZ and EL (bearing in mind the Sly dishes are Offset), I'd go for 26E. Doesn't seem to be suffciently westward to be for 7W or for Nordic beams on 1W or 4.8E.
i think youve nailed it tivu :-clap

Looking at it on this view, it's at least a 1.8M prime focus.....possibly a 2.4M.....

Unfortunately dishes usually located on roofs and I am not Carlson, so walking on streets O-no . While in Athens, took some pictures of installations of SAT antennas. There are some quiet big ones. Seems that people here do not have too many restrictions for installations.

Had a family walk another day, and on kids playground discovered ...guess what.... 2 parabolas about 20m apart from each other and not for satellite receiving, just some kind of wireless telephone :-rofl2

I like doing that with satellite dishes. Sometimes when I'm installing one I'll accidentally place my ear in the sweet spot and have super hearing.

HA! They have something like this at the visitor centre in Goonhilly, Cornwall.

Not exactly sat-dish again, but I like that picture, it comes from UK almost 100 years ago. It was in local media couple of days ago.

Could not just walk away without stop and speak to men sitting in nice 2-year old Euronews van. They had ~1,4m Gregory on the roof. I asked them where put their equipment when it gets old. They said it is all here

Here are some pictures from Barbados. Loads of large mesh C band dishes, all sorts of Channel Masters and DirecTV ones... DTV ones are all fibre glass, which makes sense as metal ones wouldn't stand a chance in that marine environment.

A HUGE disused C band dish - bigger than the house it's next to! There's also a 3m-ish one next to it (not in photo) pointing somewhere west.

You can see the 2.4m CM one in the last picture, which seems to be used for Dish Network piped around the hotel
