hi
i need a distribution system for six tv's i've been looking on the net all day and am getting confused to what exactly i need.
i have a sky plus box and would like to be able to watch and control sky on three of the tv's and i understand that i can only watch the one sky channel at a time which is not a problem, the other three tv's only need to be able to recive normal free view channels, also if one of the tv's is watching sky can the others still recive freeview channels at the same time.
can anyone recomend something please preferably a decent quality one :)

Welcome to the forum talisker

Well if you want to watch freeview channels then what digital terrestrial aerial feed do you currently have to the tv's and do they have built in freeview digital tuners?

hello,
i don't know what they have in the uk for free view using a normal areal.
the terestal transmission is grouped with 5 or 6 tv channels per pascket.
why you have 3 areals usuallly 1 good one pointing in the right direction should be ok.
on satellite if your sky plus has a hard drive to record it means you have 2 tuners in the box.
one to watch tv and the other to recorde another channel
from the satellite dish you would need 2 lines going to the receiver one to each input.
the rf output could be run to another tv as well but both tvs would see the same channel at the same time.
and if you wanted to change channels you have to go down stairs to change the channel.
or have a remote sender transmitter.
you could have freeview satellite receivers by the other tv sets but you need a multiple output lnb .
if you were doing sky plus and 4 freeview boxes then you would need a 6 output lnb.
2 lines for the sky plus and one each for the other 4 freeview boxes
totaling 6 lines.ifi your tv sets have a digital tuner incorperated of if you have a digital terestial box for free view you can connect it to your existing antenna and save some cost.
hope this helps
ralph:)

i know now that there is no need for having three aerials i added these as we got more tv's in the house i just assumed i needed them, all i basically want is to have the one roof mount aerial so three of the tv's can receive freeview and the other three that can have access to the sky if that makes sense :)

this is what i've seen which i think will do the job

_http://www.tvaerials.com/product.aspx?productid=1917

or

_http://www.tvlink.co.uk/acatalog/tvLINK_Amplifiers.html

the t140model

this way i also don't need a power point ,i've haerd good things about interference products but never heard of tvlink ,which one would you say would be best :)

slight change in plan the missus reckons we only really need 4 tv's so that means i can just use a distribution amp that powers of the rf2 on the sky, i've seen a antiference one and also a tvlink one are there any difference between them or recomend one please :)

It seems you are able to source equipment ok and post links to that equipment ok the latter being contrary to the forum rules. Further violations of the rules will be more than just warnings. Now which items are you wanting comparisons about again

Also once again how many TV's you will now be having and what you want those TV's to be able to receive?

apologies about the links i know i should have read the forum rules first :-doh!

i need to connect four tv's in all, the main set downstairs and three bedroom tv's , i would like all the tv's to be able to recieve sky and normal freeview which is through tuners already built into the tv's.
i've seen a couple of amplifiers and are not sure which one would be best "antiference line power amp model no: LPA140D
and a t140 global tv distribution amplifier
as long as the tv's can watch different channels apart from the sky which i understand the same channel can only be watched which is not a problem.
soory if all this seems a little confusing i'm kind of finding it hard to explain what i need :)
