Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
So is the San Andreas, a 5.2 right where it's been stuck for many decades.

I suspect its just terminology for a major disaster - seeing as the report says worst case scenario 200,000 people could die in a big 8 or 9 quake in the area.

Not that many would die in the actual quake it's self, but those unable to escape the 20 to 40 foot tsunami that would arrive in 20 to 30 min would go by by.

Many coastal towns now have a tsunami warning system and escape routes planed out, it all depends on the time of the quake, very late at night would be bad, but something that size would definitely wake most up.
