From the BBC News Desk
England face a tough test against in-form Germany at the World Cup on Friday.
Women's World Cup Group A
England v Germany
Shanghai Hongkou Stadium
Friday, 14 September
Kick-off: 1300 BST
Live coverage on BBC Two & the BBC Sport website, updates on BBC Radio 5live
England will look to put the World Cup disappointment of conceding a late leveller to Japan behind them when they face Germany in Shanghai on Friday.
Hope Powell's team drew 2-2, but star striker Kelly Smith shone with two goals before Japan's late comeback.
Germany opened their World Cup account with an 11-0 thrashing of Argentina in which Birgit Prinz, who will again lead the line, scored a hat-trick.
England have never beaten Germany, losing 15 of their 16 meetings.
"I hope that streak continues, but it will be a tough game," said Germany coach Silvia Neid.
