What I really can't understand, is how everyone apart from FIFA realised that stepping up action against fouls, without stepping up action against diving and feigning injury, would lead to more cheating. To me it seemed obvious what this would achieve and on watching the match last night, it would appear that even media slow motion replay scrutiny of every dive, is not forcing FIFA's hand and hence the players still seem to think that it is acceptable and some previously fair players appear to be adopting the, "If you can't beat them", join them attitude. Back to the England squad though. :) There will always be difference in opinions as to who should have been taken, as I have never known an England manager who has as much knowledge about picking the England team and game tactics as the blokes down at my local. It is obviously just coincidence that we have the top 20 football experts in the country, all drinking at the same pub:-lmao Like most here, I probably would have picked a slightly different squad, but think that the main reason for failure with the given squad, was formation and tactics. A better manager, I am sure would have utilised the resources better and achieved more committed play and hence a better outcome. I see now on the news, that the FA are trying to lay the blame of the poor performance on the Wives and Girlfriends being in Germany. :-lmao Oh well, that's good, I would hate to think that it had been the manager's fault, as that would have meant the FA had squandered several million pounds on his inflated salary. ;)
