BSkyB Default Transponder is 11778 V 27500 2/3

Freesat Default Transponder is 11428 V 27500 2/3

For receivers not capable of utilising the full EPG Data from these Transponders, Now & Next Data is carried by each other Transponder (more or less!)

If we knew a little more about the background to your question, we might be able to provide a somewhat less general answer.

Those Default Transponder are the only ones that carry the full week's EPG Data.

Provided you can actually receive those Transponders, a BSkyB or Freesat Box will automatically collect and populate that Data upon Booting up, upon pressing "Guide" and on a periodic "housekeeping" basis.

Shouldn't matter what viewable Channel you are on.

As mentioned before, if you could tell us the reason for enquiring, we might be able to home in on a more specific response: eg What equipment are you using? Have you been having any difficulty? Any information at all might help.

If you are using a different box not related to Sky, you will probably not be able to get a 7-day EPG over the satellite.
Depending on your equipment, you might have a chance to get the EPG over the internet, if you are using a Linux box.

Yep. That's the point I've been trying to make - answering the OP effectively isn't easy without some background!

Not quite tue ;) Other Freesat transponders also carry the full EPG, though at a much lower rate. I'm not referring to the DVB EIT which only contains now/next but compressed_7_days_EPG. TV appl.like dvbviewer contain the necessary Huffman tables for decompression ;)

None Sky boxes wont give full epg by default, as you have found you only get the now & next epg.

You need to add a plug in to your dreamboxes - as already suggested try the crossepg plugin.

No, they carry approx 6 hours, and no synopsis.

yes they do! All Freesat transponders carry the entire EPG though at a much lower speed than on 11428V. Here's a screen shot from the BBC transponder 10773H -> see PID 0x0F02

I was talking about Sky EPG. Sorry for the confusion. If you lose contact with 11778V on a Sky box you only get 6 hours EPG and no synopsis.

Is that data on all transponders? Sky News, for example.

I mean the Freesat data. For example is the Freesat data on 12207V? It is a Sky transponder but some channels are Freesat, Sky News for example.

I thought EIT was just "now and next", how do you know what that data contains?

just use a tool that can decode the data (e.g. TransEdit) :)
