I was reflecting on why they've delayed the move of the rest of the Fransat transponders from 5WA to 5WB, given that presumably it just involves pushing a few buttons at Eutelsat HQ. I then started to wonder if it was because the work on the ground in Italy to swing the receive dishes (from 5W to 9E) that pick up Persidera has ground to a halt because of coronavirus. AIUI they can't move what they need to move on Fransat from 5WA to 5WB until they've got rid of the stuff that is ultimately destined to be on 9E, because there just isn't enough juice available on 5WB thanks to the broken solar panel, and if the work on the ground hasn't finished I imagine that they're right royally stuck. But I dont' know if that's the actual explanation.
