No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Only ever really used BBC3 in the past few years for Family Guy and American Dad, now the former's on ITV, so just like a lot of other TV shows I liked that the BBC dropped, I find them elsewhere, most of which is on t'internet anyway, just not by streaming means... :-rofl2

"And, of course, you'll still be able to watch BBC3 programmes on your TV. All original content will air on BBC1 or BBC2 at a later date"
So no loss really.

Sorry should have stated as a non UK resident with only fringe reception of the astra 2e uk beam that drops out ~1800 cet. Use streaming to receive those splendid BBC progs/channels when that bird does its daily wobble.:)

Thats Y in this forum section :- iptv-internet-based-web-tv-streaming

I thought the BBC IP streams were IP geo-locked to stop those outside the UK watching them.

And just to add insult to Injury after losing BBC3 that annoying detestable woman Vanessa Feltz was covering Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 this afternoon. Is the BBC really trying to p**s of the British public

Another week of having to re-tune the radio at work between 12:00 and 14:00 every day :-doh

I wish the BBC would do something useful for once like sacking the annoying old bint.

I rarely watch TV these days (I just hang around the forum cos I've been on for so long!!), any TV I do watch is repeats of repeats that are repeatedly repeated, or it's what I've downloaded to watch according to my own schedule, BBC Three had very little that I liked, and that's usually stuff that's already been broadcast months prior across the pond... :)

Does make me wonder what they're going to do with the now vacant channel (well, when they stop broadcasting their "We have moved onto the internet, here's how to get BBC Three in the internet" filler that is), another BBC channel maybe? Or selling off the airtime to pointless shopping channels?

It would make more sense if they vacated the channel altogether but CBBC (08-19) is still using this channel now I thought from the rhetoric that most kids watch on line now ?

BBC-3 TV has left these transponders & only broadcasts via the Internet now,
Astra 2E @ 28.2 east
10818 V DVB-S/MPEG-2 22000 5/6
10847 V DVB-S2/8PSK 23000 2/3 MPEG-4

CBBC still broadcasts on these frequencies.

I believe that CBBC will be extending their broadcasting hours to take up some of the slack . Doubt it will be 24 hours though.

Yep. Bring back Jimmy Young.

Edit: This is rather topical - right now Vanessa is doing a piece about Domestic Violence and yet again all the contributors struggle to refer to Perpetrator and Victim, preferring instead to perpetuate the fallacy that it's inherently a Man beats Woman issue. It isn't. One in three recorded incidents are Woman beats Man. Then there's the question of under-reporting.

Those of us who have suffered ourselves, in a past life, find the way these issues are debated to be highly offensive.
