firmware for my elvis programmer

The firmware on my elvis programmer is 1.5, do i need to get it updated as when i went to the website the firmware now is 1.7. They say to send to them to do, could i do it myself?

My Satellite Setup
Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

Does it not work with all of the cards?

i have not got my system yet its coming thursday ive ordered 1 titanium card and 2 funcard 6 's ive tried it on my old gold cards and it seems ok
