I'm just wondering if anyone can help me please?

I had a Sky Digibox set up a few months ago, but took it down for decorating. Now I want to set it back up again, I can't get it to work. I've gone to the signal test page, and I've been getting a signal strength anywhere between 25% and 90% (with little consistency, however), and very occasionally a signal quality bar. But it won't lock on to a signal. What can I do?

Thanks in advance. :)

First, I moved your post to a better area.

When you say you took the setup down for decoration do you mean that you removed the dish? If so what did you slacken off? Was it the 4 bolts holding the whole shebang onto the wall or was it something which left a bracket on the wall?

If you just removed the box from the room you were decorating, make sure the satellite input connection is secure. Unscrew it again and make sure that none of the copper shield is touching the core and that a good amount of core is showing. Then tighten it up securely (by hand).

Also depending on how extensive your decorating was make sure that you haven’t damaged the cable to the dish in any way (nails through it etc).

Thanks guys, I've got it now. :)

All it was was that I didn't fix the dish down - I was just holding it to try and get a signal, but obviously you can't hold it steady enough. I thought maybe it'd just be like normal TV where you hold it generally in place, and you get something. Once I fixed it down, I got a signal almost straight away.
