Upgrading my Linux Mint to 10 Julia, there was no signal in Kaffeine when attempting to scan satellites with my Hauppauge WinTV Nova HD2 card.

Having had it working OK with earlier Ubuntu distros, I checked /lib/firmware and found there was nothing there for the CX24116 tuner chip.

So I checked on the Hauppauge site for just the CX24116 FW, but no luck. You have to extract the firmware from within the hcw88bda.sys.file from their driver files, which is what I had to do before.

Didn't fancy doing that, so - Knowing some TBS pci cards use that chip, I went to their site and downloaded their Linux Driver package for one of their pci cards and located dvb-fe-CX24116.fw.

Popped that in /lib/firmware and hey presto, Kaffeine scans OK. DVB-S2 too - didn't get those channels before, presumably because the Kaffeine version I had was without DVB-S2 capability.

Should also be OK to do this for MythTV.
