Hi everybody. I've just joined your forum and my first question of what will be many is why can i pick up bonum 1 and eutelsat W4 but none of the satellites in between?

If you are in the UK I assure you that you most definitely cannot watch Bonum 1 or Eutelsat W4 - they are transmitting into central Russia & nowhere near the UK. (Unless you have Jodrell bank in your back garden!)

The same frequency block is used over and over again around the arc so if your dish is actually pointing at one particular orbirtal slot but you scan another satellite then you will get some channels appear where the transmission parameters coincide. If you give us half a dozen channels that you are getting we will tell you where your dish is pointing

thanks analoguesat. I am picking up KICC TV, VTV4, CNL, Rojhelat TV, Thai Global Network, Arirang TV, KURDsat and 330 other channels.

They are all on Hotbird 13E, so that is where your dish is aligned to.

You cannot get channels from elsewhere without realigning to another satellite, so don't deceive yourself further by scanning other "Satellites" (They are just lists of data with some common parameters!).
