foreign satelite channels via net

not sure if this is the right forum but ill have a go...

A friend has asked me to try and fix his satelite channels as there not coming on. he says that before he had his Dream cast 7020-5 connected to his broadband to get the sports channels. ive never heard of it done this way and wanted to read up on it before i go around to try and fix it.

any pointers would be great... thanks

Sounds like what you mean is a Dreambox 7020-S. A Dreambox is a linux based sat receiver. Dreamcast is a sega games console.

With a dreambox he wouldn't actually be getting the channels over broadband, but via e normal satellite dish. The broadband connection is used to receive keys to decrypt the broadcast.

You are in for a lot of head scratching if you are going to try to fix this having never used the technology before, but we are here to help :)
