I wonder if these changes made fringe reception easier? A much lower FEC... but 8PSK.

I imagine AS will be having a quiet chuckle on finding out that the VU+ didn't cope and needed a rescan to bring back BBC HD.

I needed to edit the transponder details (new FEC and 8PSK) on my TM6900 but didn't need to rescan.

Of course these changes made the fringe reception harder, not easier. With Dm 500HD receiver, before I have good reception over 6.2db SNR, and now we need over 7.0db. Before I had reception all day long and now only at some hours in the evening.

Just checked my VU+Duo from 500 miles away - the wonders of modern science - anyway, no go with the the new BBC HD parameters.

Strange that the VU+Uno can cope, but not the VU+Duo - both with ViX images.
