Client with the 500GB drive version, latest firmware and working on Freesat, twin input.
I've installed a 70cm dish with 13 / 5 East and a four port DiSEqC switch. All working well on the analyser.

I can access the non Freesat menu with the remote colout buttons, but the receiver does not operate the DiSEqC switch on the roof ( to get some Russian TV).

I'm currently using input 1, no signal on anything, though the default A setting on the DiSEqC switch provides them with freesat, input 2 on the back of the receiver is the second / recording feed from Astra 2.

Have there been instances of the Humax failing to switch over devices on the roof ?

Two other receivers in the car work fine, but they would not wish to have two receivers under the television and they bought this a few years back under the impression from the Humax spiel that it would switch to a non freesat dish when they put a second dish up

It's a while since I used my first generation Foxsat HDR with DiSEqC, but I have a vague recollection only Input 2 permitted DiSEqC operation.

Could be wrong. Probably am. But might not be.

Edit: I am wrong. DiSEqC switches should be on Port 1. As you were.

@CH

Wondering if it could be a dodgy DiSEqC switch because I've got a couple of oldish "BEST"-branded ones that are anything BUT "the best" in practice?
(Sent another one to EMP-Centauri, and they checked it and confirmed that it didn't correctly interpret some DiSEqC commands)

OTOH, sounds like it could "dodgy" f/w on the Humax - have you tried it with one of your other switches?

Thanks for the quick answer. Is the information regarding inputs in the manual ?

Hmmm, not in the supplied manual

But it is in the 'hush hush' version.

Having tried again, I am doing everything right, so the receiver is faulty.

Damn, I might have to take it away and see if it will work on a 1.2 motor, return and upgrade the outside stuff, then give them one feed into port 1 on the dish.

What an utter waste of time so far. Thanks Humax.

Receiver-switch compatibility issue?
Then onesided blaming the box is just half the story...

As above, two other receivers are fully functional on the system , as is the Emitor analyser.

I've seen what would look like a faulty Diseqc switch problem turn out to be a bad ground on the coax on the #3 LNB port, this introduced some low frequency cross-talk noise that affected the 22 KHz Diseqc control signals to the remote switch.

Replacing a funky "F" connector and cleaning up the ground connections on the switch fixed the problem.

Rekindling this thread but with another client requirement, same receiver but wishing to have the latest German (8PSK channels) plus whatever else I can potentially receive that might be entertaining.

Currently all sorts of charming issues, mainly the inability to network search on Astra 1.
I am adding each transponder manually as a result and have better things to do, not just on a Saturday.

The machine diagnostics show software HPRSFCI 1.00.03, loader version U 7.52

Is there a later firmare available for the Humax HDR ?

I'm not surprised - ten years old, so almost certainly no longer supported.

I usually keep copies of my Firmware but long since weeded that one out.

I stopped buying Humax in the 90's.

Thanks.

Which sends me to the 'beta' humax link.
