Hello yehuda and welcome to the forum. :)

You will find soon enough after investing in a dish or two that all the FTA channels are not as exciting as you thought.
When you choose a system, make sure that you will not buy an FTA receiver but buy one with as many CAM slots as possible.
Also decide on the maximum dish size that you are allowed to install and aim for the largest possible dish as this can bring you better choice of satellites.
There are many packages from different countries that you can buy if you are willing to pay for them and if you don't mind listening to a foreign language, then this might be a good solution for you.
On the other hand, you might find that subscribing to Yes Israel might give the entertainment spectrum that you are looking for without investing in this hobby.
So it all boils down to what you and presumably the family are really interested in and then work your way to achieve this goal.
Most members are after one or more interests:
- Sport
- Films and TV series
- Adult
- General educational interests like National Geography genere
- Children and Youth
- Music (POP, Classic, etc.)

You might find going through the packages section of great value and might give you some guidance.
For example you can buy a BBC Prime subscription directly from the BBC, if you have a receiver with Viaccess CAM.

You will find that Arab channels with english speaking movies are well suited to general family type with probably sensored erotic scenes, if any while movies from France have no restrictions, provided you notice the age recommendation shown at the bottom of the screen.
BTW: Lyngsat does give the language under column APID
