Hi guys
my freesat v7 was working fine until I connected hdmi to av adapter to it. I bought the hdmi to av adapter from ebay and apparently it's no good. after I connected this, the freesat receiver kept restarting. I thought maybe there is a short somewhere in the power adapter so I changed the power adapter. it kept restarting. but then it died altogether and no matter what power adapter I use, it shows no signs of life. I have tried different power adapters, different hdmi cables, I have tried letting it sit overnight so maybe it will fix itself, nothing. no lights come on.
I am willing to pay for a new fta receiver but I am not familiar with all the receivers out there. The only feature that I need which is a must: when you turn on the tv, the channel that you left it on the last time you turned off your tv should be playing. the user should not have to go through any menus. I found something called gtmedia s2x receiver, but it seems complicated with ethernet ports and wifi capability and recording capability, I don't need all those features. does this receiver keep playing the channel when you turn off your tv?
