Took a while to get this to work well near the window and the antenna at a certain angle.

Not sure how this fares for London but I figured a good first attempt.

The old cable I’m using seems to cause fluctuations so will swap it for a far better one (it has been literally eaten away at points by mice)!

Welcome thoughts.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Your profile suggests London, most properties not behind a concrete high rise, stadium or basement can receive Crystal Palace clearly.

You could try an outdoor aerial in place of the powered one, nailing it to the ceiling should also improve things.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

Put it in the attic if you have one - my big "crossed beams" UHF antenna has been in the attic for about 30 years and has hardly ever needed to be touched

Thanks for reply. Not sure that’s practical as upper floor. Is higher up better as could raise it on the wall. Seems to pull better near windows.

Higher is generally better as there will generally be fewer buildings, etc., between the transmitter and the aerial, the higher it is.

The window probably has less signal attenuation than the wall, especially if the latter is steel-reinforced concrete or similar materials.

PS: could you not locate it near to the Zone 1 dish you mentioned in your other thread??

We actually have an aerial but it stopped giving any signal all of a sudden we suspect a cut cable somewhere from neighbouring works recently. Hence a temp solution. Haven’t fiddles with this thing for ages since university and wondered if there’s anytking
I can do in the interim. The sky dish was mounted on the wall and laying dormant so only needed swaying to point at 42e.

Understood and hope the aerial system gets repaired soon.
